Description of Machine
Fully Hydraulic High Performance Band Sawing Machine in heavy duty design for mass production cuts of easy to difficult materials, in solids, tubes and profiles. The standard precise linear guides (re-circulating ball units with grease lubricated guide carriage) guarantee maximum life. The standard Basic Control operator’s panel ensures optimum machine operation via touch screen. After making the desired number of cuts, the machine shuts off automatically. By reducing set-up times to a minimum, maximum cutting performances are achieved in automatic mode. The precise drive via ball screw spindle in material feed guarantees an accurate material length positioning.Frequency controlled bevel gear driving, electronic supervision of the minimum number of revolutions, saw band breakage-, and clamping pressure control are standard. Of course, single cuts can be made as well. The KASTO-Universal Hydraulic ensures best results regarding cutting performance and blade life. The hydraulic side-shifting cylinder is standard equipment on the KASTO twin 4 incl. Pos. 1510.

The new KASTO twin A 4 is equipped with complete guarding. A high degree of safety and cleanliness is achieved with best accessibility at the material infeed and outfeed side.

Saw unit (saw frame)
Heavy-duty, distortion-free welded construction, modular design, with vibration optimized ribbing.
Using the latest design, technology and manufacturing methods, an extremely quiet and vibration-free operation is achieved. This means shorter cutting times and longer blade life.

Guidance of the saw unit
Linear guide with two guide carriages on one guide rail. The roller circulation unit consists of one solid pre-tensioned roller running system. The greased guide carriages guarantee maximum usable life.
Side guidance via mechanically preloaded carbide guides with quick release for fast band change. The band back is guided via rollers. Automatic adaptation of saw band guidance to material cross section.

Clearance Stroke System for Saw Blade
The saw blade is retracted in automatic cycle from the cutting surface of the cut-off piece during return stroke of the saw unit (removal of cutting surface on both sides). The wear at the tooth tips is reduced, longer blade life can be achieved.

Clearance Stroke System for Material
After a cut has been finished in automatic cycle the clamped material to be cut is positioned free of damage for the next cut; particularly recommended for materials with sensitive surface (standard when ordering Pos. 1510 - material feed length 59.06 in. - 1500 mm).

Saw band tensioning
Hydraulic, electrically monitored, with automatic pressure reduction at standstill of machine.

Material clamping - Machine clamping vise
The hydraulic horizontal double clamping vise enables an optimum work piece clamping on both sides of the saw band, also for cutting of short remnant pieces.

Material clamping - Feed vise
Hydraulic horizontal clamping vise with standard infinitely variable clamping pressure reduction. Integrated material-end feeler.

Automatic NC material feed
Via pendulum bearing feed vise . Safe material transport, even with forged work pieces. Material feed length 29.53 or 59.06 in. (750 mm or 1500 mm), standard multiple feed, short cut lengths up to 9.84 in. (250 mm) are achieved by an incremental feed. Material feed via ball screw spindle. Automatic Zero Positioning of the First Cut-off Piece.  After having entered the requested cut-off length and number of pieces and after having activated the control function “zero positioning”, the first cut-off piece is at once positioned fully automatically at the requested cut-off length and then cut.

Feed control with KASTO-Universal Hydraulic UH
Constant feed rate when cutting solids resp. constant cutting force when cutting profiles and tubes. Pre-selected adjustment on operator’s panel. The KASTO Universal Hydraulic system guarantees optimum adaptation of saw feed to each diameter to be cut as well as an automatic overload safety of the saw band. The saw band feed rate can be pre-selected infinitely variable and controlled and optimized via cutting pressure manometer. This innovative feed system guarantees short cutting times and high idle times as well as precise cut-offs.
